Mac was born in New York City and cherishes early memories of working with his dad on the original “Where’s the Beef” campaign. He grew up in Brussels, Belgium, where he developed a deep appreciation for cultural value systems and communications. He studied sequential art and worked briefly at Marvel Entertainment before turning his focus to the principles of subjective interpretation, and earned a degree in Synaesthesis, the study of the harmony of different or opposing impulses produced by the work of art.

Mac is quick to tell people he always wanted to live in Ohio. As a lifelong Cleveland fan with a father from North Olmsted and a mother who is a Yankees fan, it does make a crazy kind of sense. A good friend once said “Mac asks the type of questions that take a lifetime to answer.” He thinks those are the ones worth having.
