Galyn Burke
Healing Arts Director / Code and Canvas
After a decade working at technology companies like Google, Facebook, and Pinterest, Galyn Burke quit her job to pursue a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Using biological neuroscience as her guide and the courage, insight, and wisdom of her clients as her inspiration, she has learned so much about the nature of human suffering and the most effective ways to heal it.
Through Galyn’s internship with San Mateo County’s Youth Behavioral Services team, she discovered a love for working with adolescents and families coping with adversity, intergenerational trauma, and systemic discrimination. As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (Registration #108329, Supervised by Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Jamie Marcus #84462), Galyn currently serve adolescents, adults, families, and couples at Code and Canvas, the nonprofit where she work. When she’s am not seeing clients or running mental health workshops with other healing artists in the community, Galyn works to raise money for Code and Canvas, so they can offer all of their healing arts services on a full sliding scale, because Galyn thinks that everyone deserves the best possible healthcare and support available, regardless of their ability to pay.
